Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you download and add digital content to Tonie and Yoto players.
For Toniebox Players
Toniebox does not currently support direct file uploading for custom audio. However, you can create "Creative Tonies," which allow you to upload your own audio files through the Tonie app or website.
You can find the full set of directions on Tonie's Website
1. Setting Up Your Creative Tonie
-
Make sure your Toniebox is connected to Wi-Fi and registered through the Tonie app.
-
Purchase a Creative Tonie (a blank Tonie figurine) if you don’t already have one.
2. Access the Tonie App or Website
-
App: Download the mytonies app (available on Android and iOS) and log in.
-
Website: Visit mytonies and log in to your account.
3. Upload Audio Files
-
In the app or website, select your Creative Tonie from your list of Tonies.
-
Click on the option to upload audio.
-
You can upload MP3, M4A, AAC, WAV, or OGG files (up to 90 minutes total).
-
Once uploaded, the files will automatically sync to your Toniebox when you place the Creative Tonie on the box.
4. Rearrange or Delete Tracks (Optional)
-
You can reorder or remove tracks in the app or on the website.
-
Simply drag tracks into the preferred order or delete tracks you don’t need.
5. Sync to the Toniebox
-
Place the Creative Tonie on the Toniebox, and it will start downloading the new content. The Toniebox will blink blue while it’s syncing.
-
Once syncing is complete, your Toniebox will be ready to play the new content.
For Yoto Players
Yoto players are more flexible and allow you to create custom Yoto Cards with uploaded content through the Yoto app.
You can find the full set of directions on Yoto's website.
1. Download and Set Up the Yoto App
-
Download the Yoto app on Android or iOS.
-
Log in to your Yoto account (or create one if it’s your first time).
2. Prepare Your Audio Files
-
Make sure your files are in a supported format, such as MP3 or AAC.
-
For the best experience, it’s a good idea to label each file in sequence (e.g., “Track 1,” “Track 2,” etc.).
3. Create a Make-Your-Own Card
-
Go to the My Library section in the app.
-
Tap Make Your Own at the bottom and select Create a New Card.
-
Choose either Online Upload (upload audio to Yoto’s servers) or Offline Upload (store audio on the card itself).
4. Upload Audio Files (Online)
-
Select Upload Audio Files and follow the instructions to upload your content.
-
Once uploaded, name the card and add cover art if you want.
-
Save the card, and Yoto will generate a unique link.
5. Link the Content to a Blank Yoto Card
-
Take a blank Yoto Card and tap Link in the app.
-
Scan the card by placing it against your Yoto player, and it will link to your uploaded content.
6. Download and Play the Content
-
Insert the linked Yoto Card into your player, and the content will start playing.
-
For offline playback, make sure the player has downloaded the audio before going out of Wi-Fi range.
With these steps, you can now customize and load your digital content on both Tonie and Yoto players.
