Ethical Manufacturing Commitment
At The Little Rose Shop, we take our manufacturing decisions seriously. We understand the concerns surrounding overseas production, and we want to be completely transparent about where and how our products are made. Our goal is to create high-quality, faith-filled products while upholding ethical manufacturing standards.
Navigating a Complex System with Integrity
The reality of manufacturing today is complex. The global supply chain is far from perfect, and as small business owners, we often find ourselves navigating a system that doesn’t always align with our deepest values. We know that sourcing matters—not just for quality, but for the people who make the products we create.
We don’t claim to have all the answers, and we recognize that manufacturing is a broken system in many ways. But within that system, we are doing everything we can to ensure that the people behind our products are treated with dignity and fairness. We believe that small businesses can play a role in pushing for better standards by asking hard questions, choosing ethical partners, and advocating for better industry practices.
Where Our Products Are Made
We work with a mix of U.S.-based manufacturers and select international partners. Here’s a breakdown of where each product is sourced and produced:
-
Mugs, Blankets– Sourced from China, printed in the U.S. (North Carolina)
-
Shirts – Bella Canvas brand (sourced from Guatemala, Nicaragua, Mexico, Honduras, or the U.S.), with third-party certifications ensuring ethical labor practices.
-
Fabric Designs – Available through Spoonflower and Carriage House (both U.S. companies).
-
Journals, Coloring Books, and Cards – Printed and manufactured in the U.S.
-
Quiet Books, Board Books, Muslin Blankets, Home Goods - Manufactured and hand-assembled in China, but with verified ethical manufacturing standards. See details here.
Why We Manufacture Overseas
We would love to manufacture 100% in the U.S., and we continually explore ways to move in that direction. However, certain products—such as quiet books and textiles—simply aren’t available from U.S. manufacturers at the quality and customization level that is needed.
That said, we only work with manufacturers who can provide certifications verifying they meet ethical labor standards. Many of these certifications require regular audits to ensure safe working conditions, fair wages, and environmental responsibility.
Our Ethical Manufacturing Standards
We ask these key questions before working with a manufacturer:
-
Do they have third-party certifications ensuring ethical and safe labor conditions?
-
Are they transparent about their supply chain and willing to provide audit reports?
-
Do they prioritize worker well-being and environmental sustainability?
Here are some of the ethical certifications our manufacturers hold:
By choosing manufacturers with strong ethical standards, we hope to support the movement toward better working conditions worldwide.
We’re Always Listening
We know that where products are made matters to our customers—it matters to us too! We are always researching new opportunities for U.S.-based production and keeping a close eye on industry shifts.
