The heartbeat of The Little Rose shop originated from my own story with the surprise pregnancy of my daughter at the age of 21. My journey has had twists and turns, influenced by not only the pregnancy of my daughter, but also life as a single mother, wanting to bring the faith into everyday life for her, and through the loss of 4 babies to Heaven. These moments of celebration, introspection, and unwavering commitment of honoring the sanctity of life from what the Lord has given me through experience led me to create the Pro-Dignity collection.
In the small sphere that The Little Rose Shop has blessed me with serving, we have championed the beauty of all human life in numerous ways. Embracing the dignity of both the mother and the unborn child does and remains central to the shop and to our mission. This is seen through our partnership with Marisol Health in 2022 and our partnership in 2023, with the Sisters of Life.
The beauty of life extends beyond the conversation of the pro-life movement. The scope extends to caring for those marginalized for whatever reason: those with Down Syndrome, those experiencing homelessness, veterans, those with visible and invisible disabilities. Pro-dignity encompasses a full and real culture of life.
The Little Rose Shop stands with the Catholic Church, her wisdom and her teachings regarding the dignity of human life from conception to natural death. (CCC 1700, 1929, 2270-2275)
Words and conversations are a beautiful place to begin. My hope is the Pro-Dignity collection is a spark to wear these designs at nursing homes, while feeding the homeless, working in schools, the March the Life, Respect Life month, and serving at women's shelters.
With the Lord’s grace, I strive to embody the principles of dignity and respect in every interaction. For me, this starts at home, with prayer and conversation.
My prayer for my children is this:
Lord, let my children find their identity in you. May they always know their inherent dignity and their unchanging worth and value. May you protect them from the world and the voices that try to undermine their dignity and worth. Give them a deep understanding that they are loved beyond measure and without prerequisite. Help me to embrace this truth for myself, as well. Give me the grace to show them this inherent dignity by the way I treat them, myself, and others- including those I struggle with. Thank you for designing each life with purpose and dignity, thank you for my life and my children’s. Amen.
