Role Details

Role Title: Illustrator & Brand Visionary

Reports To: Raquel Rose, Owner

Role Type: Contract; hours are flexible based on availability and projects

Role Location: This is a virtual/remote position

About the Role

Here at The Little Rose Shop, our mission is to help others bring faith into their everyday life. To help us bring our mission to life, we’re looking to add an illustrator ALL STAR to our team who will help us bring The Little Rose Shop brand and products to life. The perfect candidate will be highly creative, a self-starter, and have a strong work ethic. They will be able to adapt to the overall style, look and feel of The Little Rose Shop in their work. Most importantly, this person will believe and faithfully practice their Catholic faith and have an intuitive understanding of the Catholic audience.

This person will embody The Little Rose Shop’s aesthetics and goals as their own. They will take existing Little Rose Shop assets and designs and skillfully recreate them into fresh new projects, while also being able to take a creative brief and develop entirely new assets that authentically capture The Little Rose Shop’s look, tone, and feel. Types of projects may include — but are not limited to — book illustrations, repeating patterns, statues, t-shirt designs, and more.

Responsibilities Include

• Take existing Little Rose Shop assets and designs and skillfully recreate them into new projects while maintaining brand integrity

• Receive a creative brief and develop brand-new original assets that aligns with The Little Rose Shop’s look, tone, and feel

• Create illustrations for a variety of project types including (but not limited to): children’s book illustrations, repeating surface patterns, statues/3D design concepts, t-shirt and apparel graphics, and other product designs

• Collaborate with Raquel to conceptualize, pitch, and refine illustrations for new products

• Develop and update artwork for new and existing products

• Create a cohesive look across multiple projects that consistently reflects The Little Rose Shop brand

• Create supporting marketing graphics using your illustrations for website, social, and email

• Manage your own time, keeping track of tasks and prioritizing projects depending on needs

• Be detail-oriented in all areas of your work

• Be a team player who is open to collaboration and feedback

Basic Qualifications

• Understanding and active practice of the Catholic faith

• 3+ years of professional illustration experience, or Bachelor's degree in illustration or related field

• Strong portfolio demonstrating a range of illustration styles and project types

• Highly proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop; experience with Procreate a plus

• Ability to study and replicate an existing visual style while bringing fresh creativity

• Experience with surface pattern design and/or children’s illustration preferred

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Highly proficient at multitasking: ability to manage multiple projects at once

Ownership of Work

All illustrations, sketches, drafts, and final artwork created for The Little Rose Shop are considered work made for hire. The Little Rose Shop owns full and exclusive rights to all resulting artwork, including copyright, upon creation. This applies to all current and future products, packaging, and marketing use. Artwork may not be reused with other clients.

Role Offer:  

Pay starts at $30/hour, with rate negotiable based on experience and portfolio strength.
