Lent: Learning and Forgiving Yourself

Leading into this holy season of Lent, we take the time to examine what needs to be added and what needs to be taken away from our daily lives.

Some years this is easy to identify, others it is not.

What we need to know every year during Lent, and everyday, really, is that the Lord loves you, He died for you, and through His cross and resurrection, He has redeemed the world.

For many, this may be a hard concept to grasp. One where we don’t believe that the Lord really loves us or that He cares about us.

God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit is love. And He created you in His image and likeness. Without God loving you, you would not exist. It's as simple and as complicated as that.

When we seek out the Lord and His forgiveness, He gives it every single time. We then need to forgive ourselves, learn from our sins, and continue on our path to Heaven in our daily lives.

Here at The Little Rose Shop, we have some amazing tools to help with the process of learning and forgiving ourselves, because the Father has forgiven us.

  1. Go to Confession. Lent is the perfect time to encounter the Lord’s mercy through confession.

  2. Spend time writing down the gifts the Lord has given to you as a beautiful human being. Your gifts, your attributes, and the graces the Lord has given to you. Use our pouch to neatly hold your pens and consider making this a daily practice for yourself this Lent.

  3. Sit in prayer with the Lord. Ask Him to reveal to you the ways that He loves you. Listen along to our …. And meditate on His goodness.

  4. Wrap yourself in our cozy Words of Affirmation Blanket to tangibly see and feel the love of the Lord and the forgiveness that He offers us.

We pray that you remember you are a worthy, beloved, daughter of God. And if the Lord forgives us unceasingly, we also can forgive ourselves.
